Spring break came and went, and with that, so did my break from producing the [ NICE TO MEET YOU ] series. Recently, I’ve found it much more difficult to edit down each episode. The unedited conversations average 20 to 30 minutes, yet I’m supposed to be cutting each episode down to 10… I mean, that’s even a stretch. Hootsuite claims that the ideal length for any video being posted on social channels is :30 to :60 seconds… ouch.
I’ve definitely been giving myself some leeway considering that not one of the episodes so far has been less than 12 minutes, and this one is actually 16 minutes long… The problem is, everyone’s stories are way too fascinating and it feels like a personal attack on the interviewees every time I slice off another second from the video. Maybe I’m just not cut out for this — I need to be slightly more relentless to be a producer. But for now, please enjoy getting to know Laurence and Morgan. Throughout their conversation about dangerous childhood accidents, self-discovery and a shared love for their respective mothers, the pair became fast friends.
